Here’s a quick update on anti-social behaviour locally. We know it can be distressing, but we’re working closely with partners to make the area safer and support residents.

Please be advised that this week your local Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs), comprising officers from Limehouse, Poplar and Lansbury, have been working in partnership with Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officers and Project ADDER to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) across our communities.
As a result of this joint activity, four Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) have been issued to individuals responsible for causing significant levels of anti-social behaviour.
What are ASB Warnings?
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Warnings are early intervention measures used to make individuals aware that their behaviour is unacceptable and negatively impacting others. They provide an opportunity for individuals to change their behaviour before more formal enforcement action is taken.
What is a Community Protection Warning (CPW)?
A Community Protection Warning is a formal written warning issued to an individual whose behaviour is having a detrimental effect on the quality of life of those in the local community. It outlines the behaviour causing concern and warns the individual that further action may be taken if the behaviour continues.
What is a Community Protection Notice (CPN)?
If anti-social behaviour continues after a warning has been issued, a Community Protection Notice may be served. A CPN is a legal notice requiring the individual to stop the behaviour or take specified steps to address the issue. Failure to comply with a CPN is a criminal offence and may result in prosecution or other enforcement action.
The Police and our partner agencies are committed to using these powers to drive down anti-social behaviour and improve the quality of life for residents across our neighbourhoods.
These interventions form part of a wider problem-solving approach and may be used as stepping stones towards obtaining Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) against persistent offenders. Breaching a CBO is a criminal offence and can result in arrest. Where premises are repeatedly linked to anti-social behaviour, we will also consider the use of Closure Notices and Closure Orders to protect the wider community.
We would like to thank residents for their continued support and for reporting incidents of anti-social behaviour. Your information helps us identify offenders, target resources effectively, and keep our neighbourhoods safe.
Please continue to report Anti Social Behaviour to your local Council and to the Police to keep us aware of where this offending is happening.

Council tenants can call to report live incidents on 020 7364 2332, teams will work to dispatch Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officers when appropriate.

For Police
Call 101: for ASB, including drug dealing (if drug dealing is happening outside of a school or playground, call 999)
Call 999: only in an emergency, if there is a crime occurring, someone is injured, being threatened or threat to life
